Ganz wenig Text, dafür viele verpixelte Screenshots, die man nur aus 1m Entfernung betrachten kann...Leider viel schlechter, als das ZX Spectrum Buch aus der selben Reihe.

Wie schon die anderen Bücher aus der Reihe (etwa über den Amiga oder das NES/SNES), ist auch dieser Bildband des Bitmap-Books-Verlages ein echter Hingucker: Über viele Seiten hinweg frönt man dem visuellen Augenschmaus der C64-Klassiker. Daneben gibt es Retrospektiven über Softwarehäuser (z.B. Graftgold), Interviews sowie (eher knappe) Infos über die Demoszene und nicht veröffentlichte Games.Nicht erwarten sollte man ein komplettes Nachschlagewerk mit viel (erklärendem) Text. Der Fokus des Buches liegt eindeutig auf großformatigen Fotos - eben ein "VISUAL compendium".Das Buch ist hochwertig gemacht und gehört in jede Retro-Bücher-Sammlung.
